Maple Sesame Crispy Tofu
"A sweet and savory treat that you can serve as a main dish, a side, or even tossed in a salad!"
1 block of firm tofu
¼ cup of cornstarch
Grapeseed oil or your frying oil of choice
1 garlic clove, finely minced
1.5 tbsp maple syrup
1 tbsp soy sauce or tamari
1 tsp rice vinegar or apple cider vinegar
1 tsp toasted sesame seeds
In a bowl, combine sauce. Ingredients: minced garlic, maple syrup, Ecotierra Organic Premium Sesame Oil, soy sauce or tamari, vinegar, and sesame seeds. Whisk together until well combined and set aside.
Press water out of the tofu between two kitchen towels. Cut the tofu into 1” cubes and toss in cornstarch tapping the excess off. Coat the bottom of a pan with grapeseed oil or your favorite oil to fry with. Cook on medium-high heat (lower heat if it starts to smoke too much) until golden brown on all sides (add more oil as needed). Turn off the heat or on low, very carefully pour the sauce mixture and quickly toss the tofu to coat evenly.
Garnish with chopped green onions, serve and Enjoy!
